New steering Wheel and WII points.
Today during a conference call, managers of EB Games stores in Canada were told that a list is being made of all pre-orders for Playstation 3's that have been posted for sale on eBay. Lists will be distributed to individual stores and all pre-orders that have appeared on eBay will be canceled by EB in the very near future. According to the information I've been given, this is a joint initiative between EB Games, Sony and eBay. eBay's new policy regarding pre-order sales has made this possible by requiring that all pre-order listings include a photo of the receipt.

Hope it was worth the wait outside if it happens in the states.

People have been camping over night at Toys R US to get their preorders in for WII and PS3. Cold weather or not there is good size lines this morning at most TRU.

Their will be no friend codes for online play like the DS on WII.


A good friend of mine works in our Media department at our store, he was sent to a meeting that covered a number of media updates; one of which included a few tidbits about Wii.

As it stands, Best Buy will be getting their playable demo kiosks come November 9th. So hit up your local Best Buy at that time. This demo kiosk, as I've heard, will also include a count-down clock until launch.

The other information pertained to the number of units Best Buy stores will have available at launch. The smaller Best Buy stores will receive approximately 40 units for launch, whereas the larger stores will receive 80 units for launch.

So regardless of which store type you go to, you'll have a very strong possibility of walking in, and walking back out, with a Wii.

Review: F.E.A.R. Extraction Point

Hello fellow gamers,
I think it is bad when the best action I had was actually trying to find a copy of this game than playing the thing! There was a mix up on shipments and there was only one place who had this game and so I picked it up and man am I disappointed to say the least!

I loved the first one but this is just a big waste of time and it is certainly not worth $30.00 of your hard money folks! I was bored through the whole thing because they never did anything new that you haven't done before. I will sum up this expansion and yes I hope I ruin it for you gamers so you wait until this thing goes down to $20 and then I STILL can't say to you "pick it up"!

1. Here enemies talking (proceed with caution)
2. Shoot the bastards dead (go to next room)
3. Pick up health and armor and weapons
4. open door and wait for static in your communicator ( Alma is near)
5. spooky sequence occurs.. been there and done that 30x already folks
6. RINSE AND REPEAT FOR 4-7 HOURS!!!!!!!!

Gamers, play the demo and wait for it to be $10 which it really shouldn't take that long!

1. Graphics are nice but nothing really new
2. I shot off a guys head and watch it roll next to my feet
3. A.I. is top notch
4. Enemy said that I was his PREY, and that made me dream that there was an expansion to that game coming out!!!!

Cons
1. WTF is this story about??
2. Boooorrrriiiinnnngggg
3. If these guys are elite enemies then why in the hell do they give away their location so much by talking like dumb F.U.C.K.S.??
4. Ending is the cheapest one I have seen in a long time
5. Good luck in trying to do damage control for the F.E.A.R. 2 cause LORD NATAS WILL BE M.I.A.!!!

If your work at Gamestop or EB better not sell that game console on ebay.

It's just a rumor for now, but it seems like EBGames/GameStop wants to stop a repeat of last year's Xbox 360 eBay fiasco by cutting off employees who auction off their consoles.

This scheme is going to be hard to police, but retailers will probably scan employees' console serial numbers and compare it to serials listed on eBay—which if employees are smart, won't be. Unless EB/GameStop HQ buys up auctions and THEN compares the consoles to the listed serial numbers, it's unlikely that anybody will actually get caught.

Most likely just a scare tactic, but one less console sold on eBay means one more console in the hands of someone who actually wants to play.

I went to Gamestop to see Gears of War demo!

Hello fellow locust killers,
Well, I went to see how many people where going to show up to this thing and they were really not many. When you entered the Gamestop you were given a badge card, stickers, and a poster. I really thought they should've had t-shirts and some actual playing time for the people who went to this thing. The lan yards were nowhere to be found but since I have a hookup I was able to get one (btw thanks for the free game you know who you are). I really have to say that the game looks beautiful but my god does it look boring watching this thing. I really feel Epic not letting us play this thing is really hurting it in the long run! I have seen people play games and they were even entertaining to just watch them but this is not one of those games at all. The day of Emergence is coming very soon and here are my predictions..

1. The hype will not match the game. This is being built up as the second coming of HALO so that is really something to backup!

2. I would like to buy two vowels...A and I (very weak in my opinion)

3. I hope they mix up taking cover with something else because 10 hours of that shit is gonna suck! Regardless, I will finish the game and have a review and let you know if it is worth your money.

Hello fellow gamers,
Well, I know it will be hard for you to believe this but I haven't been gaming at all lately! I haven't had the desire but starting next week I am sure that it is going to change! I think I am just resting myself to be prepared for the gaming bliss of next week because we have the F.E.A.R. expansion pak, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Dark Messiah (still have my doubts about this one) all coming on the same day!

2 great things happening tomorrow.. DeathofU will have a magical birthday milestone since he is getting so old maybe he should switch from drinking Bawls when we game to Ensure milk to help him out with his reaction time:) also, Gamestop after closing the store will be showing a preview of Gears Of War to anyone who is 17 and older and you will get free swag as well!! Contact your local Gamestop stores to see where this will happen in your area! I am really looking forward to this game and it has been noted that we will see this game late 2007 on PC.

I am hardcore but you have to check out this demo of this game because I think it is really cool and it reminds me of the old platforming days. The game is called Dracula Twins and it would be great for kids and for someone who doesn't game that much. I am going to have Medusa play it and maybe she will like this instead of bejeweled!!

Is Microsoft their worst enemy?

Hello fellow gamers,
I have been thinking about this for awhile now and I feel that I can express myself to our readers in a way that maybe someone from Microsoft would let me work there. I honestly feel that Microsoft is their worst enemy because the console business and PC's really don't match all that well. Here are my points to ponder...

1. Microsoft's existence is from computers that can game etc. Most people buy Windows base computers since it has the biggest library of games and software. If Halo 3 came out on PC and the 360 it would explode PC sales, Vista, hardware, and just about everything else. But instead of using their strengths they just give us a remake of a game that's been out for awhile:(

2. I wish that I could lose over a billion dollars from their gaming sector and still be able to say that "we rock in consoles" most companies would have the for sale sign on their front door!

3. How can you say that Direct X 10 is the greatest thing since sliced bread and it isn't even running on your console?

4. The Xbox 360 is actually not selling that well compared with the original xbox. And speaking about that system it is D.O.A. while Sony's still selling PS2 even today!!

McDonalds Japan recently ran a contest giving away 10,000 MP3 players preloaded with 10 songs. However, the players were preloaded with QQpass malware - which transmits usernames, passwords, etc. off your computer. McDonalds set up a 24-hour hotline to troubleshoot the problem. Most conversations go something like this:

Review: Just Cause

Hello fellow Amigo's,
I just got done with this game and I would have to say that it was a blast to play! I only wish that they took some more time with it to optimize it for PC. The gameplay is just crazy and is really action packed. You can jump from plane to plane, take your vehicle over a cliff and free fall down just to open your parachute to hook on another vehicle is just plain nuts! The game ran really smooth and the music is just perfect for this game! I can easily recommend this game to you as long as your are not looking for something "realistic"!!!


Pros
1. Graphics are nice and the island looks great!
2. Soundtrack gets you in the mood
3. Taking over government property is a blast
4. can you name another game that lets you jump from plane to plane??
5. the boat you get in the game reminds me of the "batboat" yeeehhaawwww
6. save game feature works well in the game (no quick save)
7. one mission has you free falling out of a plane with someone else and you have to catch him and plant C4 on his back! (how crazy is that??)
8. Controls worked well for the game
9. lots of vehicles
10. Rico is a very cool character

Cons
1. console port albeit a good one
2. 1 mission is just ruthless
3. mission briefing needed to be mixed up a little more
4. would've liked to see more of a fmv at the end of the game

Intel to buy Nvidia??

If this rumor becomes true you are looking at the end of open systems of the PC. You will either have to be an Ati/Amd boy or a Intel/Nvidia one! I personally think that it will be to our advantage since both companies will be optimising the performance with their GPU. The ATI buyout was for around 5 Billion dollars and if Intel wants Nvidia it will have to pay around 10 billion bucks!

Sony responds to PS3 overheating issues

The PLAYSTATION 3 does not overheat. Those burnt-out consoles at TGS? Illusions! These hot rumors have been tied to those lithium ion batteries Sony manufactured and supplied to Dell, Toshiba and Apple, causing computers to melt. In an official statement made by Sony Computer Entertainment, the company states:

SCE can categorically deny that there's any problems with PS3 units overheating. As could be seen on the TGS floor by the tens of thousands of media and public attendees, both the hardware and software worked flawlessly.

Not sure about "flawlessly" as we did see a few systems overheat at TGS. And that's expected for a machine running for hours six hours plus. The PLAYSTATION 3 did hold up fairly well, all things considered. Though, those plastic fans in the demo kiosks should send off some sort of warning—as in don't leave your console on all day in a box.

Sony PS3 overheating issues!!

Hello fellow gamers,
Is anyone really shocked to hear about this really? The XBOX 360 is only running 1 GPU and look at the issues IT had! I know how much heat can occur by running SLI on a computer and we have huge cases! Well at least you get a BlueRay player with it so you can watch it collect dust with the UMD's!!

I guess by buddy J.Z. will have to wait for a Pink PS3 cause the only color it is going to be in this year is "smokin" RED:)

Nintendo fusion tour

Hello fellow gamers,
One of the best times I ever had with DeathofU is when we went to Nintendo's Cube Club tour. There is no experience like drinking for free and playing the new games that were soon to be released on the Gamecube! My three favorite 3 G's in life.. Gaming, Girls, getting liquored up:)
Now it looks like they are having a fusion tour (not free) so if it hits in the Chicago area I am going to have to drag some of my gaming brothers out for a night on the town!
