Retro Review: Chronicles Of Riddick - Escape From Butcher Bay

Hello Fellow Eyeshiners,
I bought this game when it first came out and I think that I spent $30.00 on it. At the time of this release the only thing that was on my mind was the masters finishing a title called DOOM 3. Well, even though Doom 3 was a great experience for me I would have to honestly say that Riddick makes Doom it's b**ch! Starbreeze studios graphics, gameplay, audio, presentation, is absolutely incredible for this being their first game in development. The menu is the coolest, original thing I have seen in years. Vin did a great job on this game and he plays Riddick like he did in the movies. If you like the Character Riddick you will love this game. If you are not a Riddick fan YOU WILL STILL LOVE THIS GAME!!!! Just make sure you download the patch or you will get an OpenGL error like I did:)

Pros

1. Graphics are top notch and in someways better than Doom 3
2. Riddick is a very interesting character
3. Using some of the "walkers" was incredible you really felt the girth of these machines
4. The ending was awesome
5. Turning the lights out and using eyeshine was just plain awesome
6. Melee combat was done very well..
7. Sneaking up behind someone and putting a shiv in them was awesome
8. Saving pack of smokes to unlock features... a great idea!!

Cons

1. Make sure you have the game updated or you will have an OpenGL error.
