This is not what to do if your married to a gaming addict:)

Hello fellow gamers,
Wow, what a day I have had! You ever had a great thing happen to you and then you just end up messing it up somehow? Well, welcome to my world folks! My wife wakes me up today and told me to come downstairs because she has an early birthday gift for me. I come downstairs and there is a Dell box that inside has their new 24 inch LCD monitor! I was floored by this needless to say. She said that she wanted to get me something special and wanted to give it to me early since PREY is coming out very soon! If you don't know by now PREY is going to be THE game this year! I am very hard to buy for because I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of toys so to get the "Kodak" moment from me takes a big bang and my wife was successful this year:) I asked her what made you think of getting this for me and she replied " I heard Azrael say that your monitor looks so small compared to his.. so I wanted to get one for you to at least try out and see if you would like it better than your CRT". Loyal readers know that I am not really a big fan of LCD stuff because I feel that the picture is inferior to an CRT. Now for the fun part folks...
I took it out of the package and hooked everything up and then preceded to shut my computer down. I unplugged my CRT and hooked up the LCD and rebooted my computer only to hear a different noise during its boot up and I ended up looking at a black screen! I started trouble shooting everything I possibly could and even tried hooking up my CRT so I could get something but still got the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH! I called DeathofU and left a message for him to call me because I had a problem I couldn't figure out. I am really glad that my wife had to work today because I was yelling things that would've made her feel bad for getting this thing. DeathofU calls me and I explain what is going on and all of the stuff I have done up to this point. He said grab your wife's computer just to make sure that the LCD is good and sure enough the Compaq 866 P.O.S. boots perfectly! Keep in mind folks that my computer is my world and for this thing to be down is like normal people not able to breath so I was a sick duck. DeathofU said to shutdown the computer and to open the case and even unplug my graphic card for a minute. I turned it back on and heard it boot up normal to see the LCD working and I was so relieved it wasn't even funny! DeathofU is the F@#king MAN!!!
I asked him what the hell happened and he said that it could've got locked on an Analog signal and that I should've had windows running THEN made the switch. That would've been nice to have known before giving myself a heart attack huh? So what do I think of it? It rocks man and now I can see why Almosthuman was able to defeat me in my only loss in PREY so far:) When getting or if you have an LCD monitor please keep the following in mind...
1. Have your screen saver come on and to have the LCD go to sleep mode because"image burning" can and will occur. Image burning on an LCD is more like the pixels get stuck in a position and doesn't move and they stay that way!
2. Change your wallpaper often or just don't use it for the same reason.
