"B" title games: I would be lost without ya:)
Hello Fellow gamers,
I had a very interesting conversation with one of my closest friends the other day. I was telling Azreal about how I started playing the game Project Snowblind and how I really liked it so far, here is the conversation:
Azreal- did you finish it?
Lord Natas- not yet, I have maybe an hour left
Azreal- man, its a good thing that they make a lot of games cause you pound them out and you would be really bored if you only had AAA titles.
He is absolutely right, I would be bored waiting for the 5 titles a year that everyone else waits for. I changed jobs last year and it really opened it up for me to get some gaming in. How much you ask? How about the fact that in 2005 I finished 28 games and my average used to be about 5!!! Hey! we just started March and I already have finished 7 games and I am really on my way of beating my record set last year. This isn't even including the hours of Quake 4 multiplay or the games that I didn't finished do to sucking ass!
I go to Compusa or anywhere that sells games and see if I can find some gems in the "B" or "C" titles and sometimes I really pickup some gems, and the ones that suck I am only out $10.00 roughly. I play games to play games and not just for the graphics or sound quality either. A perfect example would be Project Snowblind. This game was entertaining and a blast to go through and it only cost me $15.00!! The publishers are receptive of trying new things that would help sell their games instead of just raising the bar on graphics etc. The stress is on game makers such as Valve, id, Epic, Bio-Ware, to push graphics and audio to a new level that makes us upgrade our systems. When Human Head unleashes Prey you bet your ass that I am expecting the level of graphics and audio to be raised beyond Doom 3 or Quake 4. Loyal readers can also expect that if this game comes out on 6/6/06 that they will see my review on 6/7/06:)
until next time..
